The power of love to change bodies is legendary, built into folklore, common sense, and everyday experience. Love moves the flesh, it pushes matter around… Throughout history, “tender loving care” has uniformly been recognized as a valuable element in healing.

~Dr. Larry Dossey MD

Massage is the practice of applying structured or unstructured pressure, tension, motion, or vibration — manually or with mechanical aids — to the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments, joints, lymphatic vessels, and organs of the gastrointestinal system to achieve a beneficial response. Massage Therapy is performed primarily by a professional Massage Therapist, but is often used as a form of therapy by other Healthcare practitioners such as Chiropractors, Osteopaths, Nurses, and Physical Therapists.

Massage can be applied to parts of the body or successively to the whole body, to aid the process of injury healing, relieve psychological stress, manage pain, and improve circulation. Where massage is used for its physiological, mental, and mechanical benefits, it may be termed “therapeutic massage” or manipulative therapy.

Massage will improve your health, increase your happiness, and with that comes harmony, peace, and prosperity. It’s time you did something for yourself that will have benefits beyond a simple massage. Imagine feeling completely carefree as hands glide effortlessly along the length of your body…enveloping you in a healing positive energy…

Massage Therapy Background

Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.

~Carl G. Jung

I began my journey as a healer at age 6 working on various pets and family. My father had been injursed during WWII and his legs always hurt, so at night after homework was done, I would rub his legs. My mother taught me the art of reflexology and laying of  hands to  heal. In nursing school (ADN work WestarK Community College – Fort Smith, Arkansas, 1987-1989) I was influenced by various professors who practiced therapeutic touch, and my interest in energy work was piqued. I began using massage in my nursing profession in 1989 and found my patients were more relaxed, less anxious, slept better, had more stable vital signs, needed less pain medication, and in general had fewer complications. I went on to earn my BSN in 1994 from Arkansas Tech University.

In 1998, I graduated from A Healing Touch, Inc. Clinic and School of Massage Therapy. I have extensive training in deep tissue, cranio-sacralreflexologyreikiacupressure (trigger point), shiatsu, myofascial release, and Swedish but specialize in sports medicine/deep tissue.

Massage therapy treats a wide variety of musculoskeletal disorders, Temporo-Mandibular Joint disease (TMJ), Carpel Tunnel SyndromescoliosiswhiplashLymphedemadepression, acute and chronic injuries, symptoms of Muscular Dystrophy (MD) and Muscular Sclerosis (MS) and painHEEL products such as TRAUMEEL and Arnica are available to treat inflammation. I also use Biotone products. I highly recommend LIMU for any and all health issues and for superb nutrition.

In my nurse consulting practice, which focuses on nutritional support and stress management, I work with cancer and burn patients and high risk pregnancy clients as well as healthy individuals and athletes.

Massage therapy may include pregnancy massage. While living in Hawaii I performed intra-partum massage, cardiac monitoring and assisted with delivery. Massage during pregnancy by someone untrained can cause miscarriage when abortion points are stimulated. Conversely, massage during labor eases stress to the mother and therefore stress to the baby is minimized. I also have experience in baby and children’s massage (GRATIS) and can teach you!! It will help your child’s behavior, sleep habits, and performance in school and make your life a LOT easier! I know because I have two children of my own who have gotten massages from me since they were born.

If needed, I can provide a referral to a number of physical therapists, chiropractors, or physicians.

Since 2008, my practice has been primarily geared toward wellness and consulting with an emphasis on individualized nutritional counseling (also a Registered Nurse). In 2010 I received my national certification as a personal trainer with NFPT. Ask about my Fitness Program “For Life.

Chakra Balancing

“When we develop the heart chakra, we begin to influence the surroundings with our spiritual presence.

When we develop the communication chakra, we begin to influence the country with our spiritual presence.

When we develop the seventh chakra, we begin to influence the world with our spiritual presence without doing anything.”

~Swami Dhyan Giten, Presence – Working from Within. The Psychology of Being

There are 7 major chakras which are responsible for our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Their names are:

  • Mooladhara chakra (Root chakra)
  • Swadisthan chakra
  • Nabhi chakra
  • Anahat chakra (Heart chakra)
  • Vishuddhi chakra
  • Agnya chakra
  •  Sahasrara chakra (Crown chakra)

When the Kundalini is awakened, she starts cleansing and enlightening these chakras. Thus, the qualities of these chakras begin manifesting in our daily lives, making us more balanced and integrated.

This awareness of the energy centers provides us with a tremendously objective view of ourselves. We don’t “think” that we have this or that problem, but we can actually feel the source of our problems on our fingertips. We have a great capacity to rationalize our experiences, to justify our actions through the power of our mind. Through this vibratory awareness which we gain through Sahaja Meditation, we are able to use a much more reliable measure of our inner state. In short, we begin to “know ourselves.”

Amazingly, every problem that we have, whether it is physical, mental, emotional or spiritual, can be related to disturbances, also known as “catches”, on these energy centers. In the picture you can see that the colors shown on the hand correspond to the colors shown on the chakras. For example, the thumb is in yellow and this corresponds to the color of the second energy center at the base of the green circle in the subtle system chart.

Further, if we are able to cleanse these energy centers, also called “clearing”, we can actually cure these energy centers. A number of articles have been published in scientific journals to demonstrate that Sahaja Meditation works effectively when this approach is used.

We are confronted throughout history with certain symbols. One of them is the serpent, which was always much in evidence wherever the ancient temples devoted to wisdom flourished. Since the old story of Adam and Eve, the serpent has represented two things – Knowledge and Sex – thus hinting at a close connection between them. And the secret is that the Creative Force within us is one single force, whether it be used for physical or mental ends. We have the choice as to which way we shall direct this force, upwards or downwards.

In material-minded or primitive man it continues to be used purely for procreation or sensual gratification. But as man aspires to higher ideals, as he yearns to create mentally and live in the spirit, the force is gradually drawn upwards to the creative principles in the brain.

chakras a

This force is called by the Easterns the Kundalini, and is likened to a serpent of fire lying coiled at the base of the spine. If man steadily purifies his mind and nature through living chastely and moderately, he is able to magnetize the Kundalini serpent upwards through the channel of his spine, until finally it reaches the Masculine-Feminine principles of the brain and fires them into co-ordination. The man is then filled with inspiration and becomes attuned to the inner world of Wisdom. This can only be accomplished with the help of the ‘Kundalini serpent’. Perhaps Christ gave a hint of this when he said: ‘Be ye wise as serpents.’

The Seven Churches: These represent the seven spiritual centers within the body. In classical Hinduism and Buddhism these centers are called “chakras,” which means “wheels,” spinning wheels of energy located in specific areas of the human body. Cayce correlates these centers to the endocrine glands, which secrete the powerful hormone messages directly into the bloodstream, affecting all parts of the body. Each of these churches represents a specific spiritual center. The virtue and the fault of each church symbolize the virtue and fault of that spiritual center within us. These powerful centers affect the soul and mind inhabiting the body. Therefore, the Spirit moves through each church, calling on it to overcome its weaknesses and to do what it knows to do, so that the final glory may be achieved, helping us to prepare for the spiritualization of the mind and heart described in subsequent chapters of the Revelation.

The chakras are energy points in the body. Although invisible to the human eye, chakras can be seen by people who are capable of seeing etheric energy. According to famed psychic Edgar Cayce, the chakras are associated with specific endocrine glands.

The chakras are located at the base of the spine, the lower abdomen, the upper abdomen, the chest, throat, brow and top of the head. If aligned and balanced properly, the chakras will line up in a straight line; this optimizes the energy in a person’s body. Sometimes the chakras fall out of alignment and energy in the body is lost. This can happen due to unhealthy living, stress or any kind of negative energy. A simple meditation can realign the chakras, thus returning the energy to the body.

Chakra oils chart

Energy is needed, and energy is always beautiful. If you don’t know how to use it, it becomes ugly; then it goes on running astray. The energy has to go higher. Sex is the lowest center of your being — but that is not all: you have seven centers of your being. As the energy moves upwards, if you know the key how to release it upwards, as it moves from one center to another, you feel so many transformations. When the energy comes to the heart chakra, to the center of the heart, you become so full of love you become love. When the energy comes to the third-eye center you become consciousness, awareness. When the energy comes to the last chakra, sahasrar, you bloom, you flower, and your tree of life has come to a fulfillment: you become a Buddha. But the energy is the same. Don’t condemn; don’t suppress. Transform. Be more understanding, alert; only then will you be able to enter in totality.

The enlightenment moment occurs when we (the inner being) totally abdicate the awareness and concerns of the “local self” and merge “completely” with the larger universal consciousness. This union can be achieved only through the abandonment of ordinary thought processes, and entry into ecstatic awareness of being as such (bliss). In Eastern practices, this is accomplished through the release of the Kundalini energies, which travel upward through the system, opening the body to its fullest receptivity, and culminating in the embrace of shiva/shakti at the crown. Then, and then only, one knows one’s essence and source–divine, intoxicating, universal energy. At that moment, the rest is irrelevant.

For an instant, one transcends the polarities.  One experiences in full the meaning of such terms as “Oneness”, “Union”, “Self Consciousness ‘, Bliss”, “Transcendence”, “Merger with the Infinite,” The Lotus Opening.” For the latter is exactly what the experience feels like. The energies, having arisen to the open crown, now pulse within the brain, exactly as though the petals of flower were unfolding in infinite bliss. All this occurs as ecstatic energies from the Divine Source stream into one’s very skull in an outpouring of unabated, indescribable, overwhelming Love.

The power of the 7th Chakra is the Power to Know Truth, the power of the Infinite. From Sanskrit Sahasrara can be translated to as “Thousand Petaled Lotus.” The lotus blossom is a symbol for purity and spirituality. In China it is referred to as “the hundred meeting place,” since there are one hundred energy channels that flow up and meet here, at the top of your head.

The Ajna Chakra (Third Eye or Brow) is the seat of your awareness and is located at the center of your forehead – the power of light is wisdom through contrast and duality; there can be no light without darkness. The power of light gives rise to your imagination and ability to visualize. This is the prana for making ideas, envisioning and image making. From Sanskrit Ajna can be translated as “Command,” and refers to one’s capacity for clairvoyant intuitive wisdom and to SEE TRUTH.

The Vishuddha Chakra (Throat) is located at the back of your throat – the power of space is creativity and self-expression. This is the prana for transforming vibration into particle, the beginning of creation and coming into being. From Sanskrit Vishuddha can be translated as “to purify by separating out” and refers to one’s “negative” experiences being transformed into wisdom, learning and Pure Consciousness.

The Anahata Chakra (Heart) is located just behind your heart – your portal for Divine Love and Grace. The power of Air is movement and integration. From Sanskrit Anahata can be translated as “Unstruck, unhurt, unbeaten” and refers to the Vedic concept of unstruck sound, the sound of the celestial realm. Here we witness the full force of your intention as it moves from the potential into the actual. This is your vital life force energy that governs all the communication systems in your body, especially the nervous system, and gives rise to your sense of touch and movement of energy flowing within and around you.

The Manipura Chakra (Solar Plexus) is located just above your navel. From Sanskrit Manipura can be translated as “City of Jewels or Palace of Jewels.” Here prana has the power of fire and transformation. The idea of I is born and you see yourself flower as separate from other beings.  This is your vital life force energy for empowerment and self-esteem, and the throne of the Green Dragon of your personality and ego drive. Its nature is the strong emotional desire for power.  This chakra contains your personal power to direct your spirit for self-mastery and individuation, and the ability to surrender your personal will to Divine Will for realizing your highest potential.

The Svadisthana (Sexual/Spleen) is situated at the base of your lumbar spine, halfway between your navel and pubic bone. Water’s power is fluid, yet unyielding – the power to overcome obstacles and act with integrity. This is your Seat of Ch’i, Dantiem, your personal will power to be and confidence to stand on your own two feet. From Sanskrit Svadisthana can be translated as “Primordial Abode.”

The Muladhara Chakra is situated at the perineum, between the genitals and the anus, the power of earth. From Sanskrit Muladhara can be translated as, “That which holds the Base or Root.” Its element is Earth and its color is Ruby Red. Here lies the call “to be” our destiny and realization of our potential. Your Kundalini Seed potential rests, slumbers, here awaiting activation. The flowering of this chakra is the mature person who walks steadily towards their destiny. It is here you are awakened to your deepest and most profound potential in which all aspects of your body, mind and spirit are integrated and expressed.

The human body has trillions of cells. Each cell has a nucleus (23 chromosomes (Coiled threads of DNA Helix molecules+Protein molecules). Each DNA has a set of nucleotides (Phosphate, Sugar (deoxyribose), Base (guanine, cytosine), Nitrogen (thymine, adenine.) Each DNA is a double stranded helix where the strands are linked by hydrogen bonds (Base Pairs) between guanine & cytosine, thymine & adenine.))

There are 3 billion base pairs in the human genome. Typically each human being has 100,000 genes. A gene has about one thousand to several million base pairs. DNA (Instructions) >RNA (Messenger) >Protein (Synthesis – 3000 gene base pairs may contain 1000 amino acids). For every gene set there may be a meme set, where a meme is a set of semiotic signs, symbols, meanings, beliefs, instincts, cultural patterns, spiritual patterns, archetypes. In spiritual terms, there are postulated, 12 strands of DNA, which extend into the other 12 dimensions of the reality.

Your DNA exists not only biologically, but other dimensionally as well. Scientists study the aspects of the DNA phenomenon and have learned much. What they do not yet understand is that your DNA is much more than a functioning biological entity. It is your harmonic signature universally.

It is not just we humans who are changing, but all life forms on Earth are becoming crystalline. All the fish in the sea, the flowers and trees in your garden, the birds in the sky, even your pet dog or cat. Everything is changing. Nothing will die or be destroyed, for we are all moving together into a new state of being.

This new state of being requires therefore that we physically, mentally and emotionally let go of  3rd-dimensional concepts. Just as in death, the letting go is a major part of the change process, for one cannot take the old values and way of being into a new completely different afterlife. So the progression through changes compels us to let go of current relationships, jobs, careers, homes, possessions, and so on, if they are unable to support our new way of being. Is it any wonder, therefore, that there is a great deal of anxiety and fear being felt because these changes are already in progress, even though most people are not conscious of it. Also, the changes to our physiological makeup are currently speeding up and there are many temporary physical symptoms that are occurring in our bodies as a consequence of this.

Some of these are:

•  Flu-like symptoms —high temperatures, sweating, aching bones and joints etc., but which do not respond to antibiotics
•  Migraine headaches —severe pain that is not relieved with pain killers
•  Occasional diarrheas
•  Occasional runny nose —with sneezing which lasts 24 hours and is not a cold or hay fever
•  Dizziness
•  Ringing in the ears
•  Heart palpitations
•  Feeling the whole body vibrate – especially at night when one is in a relaxed state
•  Intense muscle spasms —plus pain in the body, often the back
•  Tingling – in arms, hands, legs or feet
•  Loss of muscular power —in hands, caused by changes in circulation system
•  Occasional breathing difficulties —and/or noticing stronger or louder breathing when in a relaxed state
•  Immune system changes
•  Lymphatic system changes
•  Feeling tired – or exhausted from minor exertion
•  Wanting to sleep —longer and more often than normal
•  Toe nails and hair growing quicker than normal
•  Bouts of depression for no real reason
•  Delving into the past —and looking at relationships, gaining clarity on personal issues
•  Feeling of a huge purge
•  Tension, anxiety and high-stress levels —because one feels that something is going on but doesn’t know what is it

Some of these symptoms are being felt by a great many people. Many are rushing off in panic to their doctor, chiropractor, herbalist, and so on, and are usually told that there is nothing wrong with them. And this is the truth. For all these symptoms are just temporary and simply indicate that these physiological changes are occurring.

Some of the RECOMMENDED RELIEF REMEDIES for the above are:

•  Go with the flow, don’t fight it
•  If you feel tired and exhausted, rest and get plenty of sleep
•  Drink lots of water for you are detoxifying and dehydrating quicker than usual
•  To relieve emotional tension and stress levels take Valerian
•  Fenugreek relieves stress on the lymphatic system and helps the detoxification
•  To relieve muscle spasm take Valerian and try mud baths or a long, hot soak in a bath to which you add a cup of Epsom salts. Do this daily.
•  Recognize that even if you are having heart palpitations or breathing difficulties that it is the heart chakra or the throat chakra that is unblocking and that the symptoms are temporary.

You aren’t dying, just changing! Some practitioners, like myself have very intense energy.  I have worked on people whose arms or legs would begin to move uncontrollably or after a session would be so dizzy they could not stand.

This process of change is known as the Awakening, or as the Ascension process. We need to transcend our fears and learn about love, real love, which has to start with the self, because until we can love and trust ourselves, we cannot truly love or trust anything or anybody else.

How do I choose the right provider?

Just as you would in choosing the right physician. It is wise to look around for someone with education and experience. If you need real problem-solving, you might look for the most intelligent, well-trained, well-educated, experienced therapist you can find. You may need someone with a thorough knowledge of anatomy and the ability to think creatively in three dimensions.

If credentials are important to you, but not addressed to your satisfaction, you have the right to discuss your concerns directly. Of course, education might insure your provider knows the names of muscles and bones and such, but experience and training may be more important to you.

On the other hand, if you’re seeking a massage for relaxation and peace of mind, then educational levels, special training and the like may be less important than finding a provider you trust and feel personally comfortable with. You may need to talk to or even try out more than one; don’t hesitate to do this. There is the right provider for each client and the right client for each provider, and there’s nothing wrong with moving around until you find a good fit.

If you’re interested in or attracted to some less conventional approaches — perhaps Eastern, meditative, New Age, energy-based, etc. — you may prefer to look for practitioners guided by those approaches.

What is informed consent?

Informed consent is the process by which a fully informed patient can participate in decisions about her health. Informed consent originates from the legal and ethical right the patient or client has to direct what happend to his/her body and for the ethical duty the health care provider or personal trainer has to involve the patient/client in that decision-making process.

Does massage hurt?

Massage should not be painful although some areas of the body may be tender. Everyone has a different threshold for pain and for that reason the massage therapist should always ask about the pressure being applied and advise the clients to voice any discomfort and whether the pressure is too intense. Your therapist will work deep or light depending on what area is being massaged. Deep tissue massage may leave some residual soreness for a few days. Acupressure and Shiatsu may access painful points, and any therapy that directly addresses soft-tissue or muscle problems (such as myofascial, deep tissue, trigger point, neuromuscular, etc.) may be painful when addressing problem areas.

Rotator cuff release is perhaps the most painful release, but pressure is not held long during the procedure. The more the procedure hurts, the more it is needed.

Release of the Iliopsoas is generally not painful, although strain of that muscle can cause excruciating pain.

The inner thigh and Ileotibial band are sometimes very sensitive and tender for some people, especially runners or bikers due to Ileotibial Band Syndrome.

What is a SENSUAL massage?

All massage is sensual in that it affects the senses. Many people confuse the terms sensual and sexual. Legitimate massage therapists do not provide any sexual services, including Tantric or prostate massage.

I have asked many physicians their opinion regarding prostate massage and have yet to find one who thought it was beneficial. In addition there are dangers with prostate massage including: infection which could lead to sepsis, damage to the prostate, the possibility of seeding cancerous growth if present, and the possibility of cardiac arrhythmias. The newest medical literature indicates that prostate massage be done only for diagnostic purposes either by a physician or nurse for the purpose of “milking” during a diagnostic test to determine if an infection is present when men are symptomatic.

In my practice I provide nutritional counseling and recommend lifestyle changes such as stress reduction, along with regular exercise to help control the detrimental effects of stress on all our lives.

Keep in mind that the important thing to remember in choosing a therapist is that if the therapist does not have positive energy, and intent, he or she will not deliver a healing massage.

Should children and infants receive massage?

Massage and therapeutic touch are very importand for all ages. You would be surprised how much better your children will fare with regular therapeutic touch. They will sleep better, be more rested and have fewer behavior problems and have improved performance in school when they are more relaxed and rested.

What is Raindrop Therapy?

Raindrop therapy is a technique of applying oils in a special sequence that removes toxins and helps the immune system function properly.

Raindrop Therapy1

When should I not get a massage?

There are contraindications for massage which is why a thorough history is so important. Trained massage therapists are taught contraindications in massage school. Your therapist can advise you regarding times it might be either inadvisable to receive massage or when you should get the permission of your physician before receiving massage.

Clearly you don’t want to aggravate an underlying medical condition and you don’t want to pass anything contagious to your massage provider. If you have a serious or chronic medical condition, including but not limited to cancer, cardiovascular conditions or heart disease, thrombosis, phlebitis, edema, fractures, severe acute back pain, fever, infections or contagious diseases, or you have concerns of any kind, always check with your doctor before proceeding on a course of massage therapy.

During massage, pressure should not be applied under or over varicose veins or directly over infected skin or bruises. Massage on the abdomen, legs and feet is best avoided during the first three months of pregnancy when the risk of miscarriage is highest; always check with your doctor if you are pregnant. If you are giving a massage, always cover any open cuts or scratches on your hands with a plaster or other dressing.

Why Prevention…..instead of Emergency Medical Intervention ?

My nursing experience includes Cardiovascular ICU, CCU, Shock and Neuro Trauma, Burn ICU, Transplant ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Orthopedic, Rehabilitation, and Emergency Room among other specialties. As a nurse I incorporated massage into routine care for my patients in those units. My patients required less pain medication, weaned from the ventilator more easily and without complications, slept better without requiring sleeping pills and had faster recovery times. I loved making a difference and massage does that.

But, it’s much harder to fix you in ICU than to PREVENT you from getting “broken” in the first place from too much stress, poor diet, or lack of exercise. You will find I am a great motivator and I am very passionate about what I do. I take a proactive approach to health and encourage my patients to do the same.

I am very competent and thorough. I have found serious health issues such as abdominal tumors, breast, testicular, and skin cancers in some of my patients, which probably saved their lives. My nursing experience has been invaluable to many of my clients.

If you have an acute injury or need a referral to a Physician, Physical Therapist, or Chiropractor, let me know.

I also ask that you tell me about any health issues, such as a history of cancer, clotting disorders, diabetes, injuries or surgeries (especially spinal or musculoskeletal), allergies and medications you are taking, including herbal supplements or vitamins. I pick up on the majority of issues but I do appreciate and require a short history.

I provide nutritional counseling which is the basis for good health. Many of my clients are fairly healthy, but even they need help at times. I have 40 years of experience helping others with diet and exercise.

Does Texas have a State Board of Massage Therapy?

No. Texas is regulated by the Texas State Board of Health.

What are typical rates for massage?

American Soldier Thank you

Typical rates for massage are usually determined by the current market and are usually charged by the hour. Typical rates are $60-$125/hour depending on the area.

I am one of a few therapists who offer student, senior citizen’s, professional and miltary  discounts. I do not charge for massage on infants or children if you desire to bring them along to your massage session.

What are out calls?

Many people prefer the comfort of their own space or have such busy work schedules that traveling to them allows them to maximize their time. For that reason some massage therapists offer outcall massage and travel to your home, hotel or hospital.

When doing outcall to a hotel or resort, it is wise to always check in with the concierge or desk. Outcall fees are often based on a sliding scale depending on the distance one has to travel.

What are your hours?

I keep very flexible hours in order to attend out of town and local training as well as webinars and any other available educational experience that will add to my knowledge base.

I do make myself available to my clients for consultation regarding health and fitness as well as proper nutrition. When choosing me as your health consultant you can be sure I don’t “watch the clock”, provide accurate information and follow up with you to ensure your success.

Where are you located?

Massage room

My office is located near the Galleria in the Woodlake area but I travel all over the Greater Houston area and even to other states to see clients and members of my LIMU team.

What is LIMU?

The LIMU Company is a premier health and wellness company offering world-class energy, weight-loss, and nutrition products along with a rewarding business opportunity.

ill titleBiofeedback

Eventually, patients should be able to use their biofeedback experience to lower their own heart rate or blood pressure, or to alleviate physical complaints. It’s a form of self-medication.

~Dr. David Spiegel, Stanford University

Consider the ebb and flow of the tide. When waves come to strike the shore, they crest and fall, creating a sound. your breath should follow the same pattern, absorbing the entire universe in your belly with each inhalation. Know that we all have access to four treasures: the energy of the sun and moon, the breath of heaven, the breath of earth, and the ebb and flow of the tide.

~Morihei Ueshiba

Increase your consciousness…. I am trained in Biofeedback. The majority of our population do not even know how to breathe properly and actually hold their breath many times a day, depleting the brain, heart, and other organs of oxygen. I teach breathing exercises and relaxation techniques during massage to help you get the most benefit. Proper breathing will decrease blood pressure, increase your energy, improve work and athletic performance as well as sleep, and enhance critical thinking skills. I can also help you evaluate sleep disorders such as sleep apnea.

I take care of you like family. I am a medical professional with 20 years experience in Intensive Care Medicine and am an alternative medicine counselor. I can review your medications with you and assist you in finding natural substitutes. I do not charge extra for sharing my knowledge. It’s simply my way of “paying it forward”.

Massage along with proper diet, nutritional supplements and exercise, not only relaxes but helps you lose weight, stay toned, rids the body of toxins, and creates a sense of well-being. With massage you reap cardiovascular, respiratory, and endocrine benefits, not to mention increased immunity to disease. Don’t forget to ask about natural cold and flu treatments such as the use of a Neti pot. I am well versed in homeopathic treatments.

You probably don’t even realize how bad you feel until you begin to experience the benefits of good health, exercise and nutrition: increased energy, mental focus, an improved physical appearance, and a generalized sense of well-being.

There are unique blends of massage such as “tai chi” and Lomi Lomi massage which is a very fluid technique that balances the energies of the body and integrates mind, body, and spirit.

With the popularity of alternative therapies increasing, many people are turning toward complementary modalities such as biofeedback, yoga, guided imagery, prayer and meditation to improve their health. With this increase in acceptance of alternative practices, nurses, and other healthcare providers need to be informed about their uses, benefits. and application in clinical practice.

My clients are professional athletes and weekend warriors….or just the average business person who needs stress management and want to improve their health through proper nutition. Learn to maximize your athletic potential by decreasing lactic acid build up, which is the cause of muscle soreness. Overuse injuries? No worries…I know how to treat them.

Good communication is essential to developing an effective relationship with your patients. The client and therapist or consultant should discuss the type of treatment expected and the patients goals before developing a plan. The consultant should include the patient in the health care plan. It is important to review all history (mental and physical), current medications(including herbal medicine), diet, and physical activity as well as goals.
